COG has lost a great member - John Carver
« on: September 09, 2013, 09:58:51 AM »
I got this in an email this morning from Calvin Underwood, a sad day.  Please keep his family in your prayers.

John passed away last night with all his family with him.
A service will be held on Wednesday, 4-6 p.m. at http://www.mccommonsfuneralhome.com/fh/home/home.cfm?&fh_id=12169 .  Other details should be posted later today.

Very sad news.  Met John when hewas passing through my neck of the woods a couple times, and he was the first person to greet me at the next RWTW.  Real nice guy and yes, I think COg has lost a good ambassador for the group.

Many moons ago, John and I talked about what we would do if the other passed first. I know John had a fondness for Bourbon...

Will miss ya bud, save me a seat.

Hey Jerry,
Unfortunately I can't make the ride over for John's memorial, but I was thinking about sending a card to his family letting them know how much we thought of John.  Do you happen to have his address?  Private message is okay...

As Rick said, John had a fondness for Bourbon.
He introduced me to several of his favorites...
Good times.

Think I'll go get some and have one on him.

John, we're gonna miss you Buddy

John resurrected my old 'Bourbon Trail' ride.  Maybe we should keep it going in his memory.

Sounds like a Carver Bourbon Trail Memorial Ride is needed!

Well, I missed John's version but I have my notes from the route when I led the Chasing the Bourbon ride- still have the Concourier from moons ago. John had family in the area and picked my brain for ideas.  Think it would be nice to have it around this time next year.  I could put something together, or if some one closer to JC wanted to organize, I'd help in any way possible.  I just ask we crosss-post on the COG forum so his family there can join in.

These threads are sad and cool all at the same time. Nice to see That someone is so well liked! That many a nice thing can be said of someone.  I can only hope people speak as nice of me when I go. Never met John, well wishes and condolences to his family.
