Found a SPOT locator - how to find owner?
« on: August 16, 2013, 10:46:40 PM »
A friend of a friend found a SPOT locator out on a trail here in Washington State and we'd like to get it back to the owner.  I looked at their website, hoping they might have some kind of info about how to maybe give them the S/N and they could find the owner or something like that.  Didn't see any helpful info.  Does anyone familiar with these know of a way to let the owner know that we have their unit for them?? I will try to contact SPOT directly but I know some people on these forums use these units and might have some idea how to do this.  Thanks in advance.

If it's lost, it either doesn't work or they must not have wanted it.

You mean it isn't possible they dropped it and didn't know it?

I lost mine on the 17th in the Hoh Rainforest.  I run with it on but not tracking to keep it in ready mode for emergencies.  Looking to upgrade to the new Gen3.
