Good Area P, Happy Man

Well, I finally got an Area P bolted on and I am quite happy.
It bolted on without effort -- the slip joints slipped just fine.
The bends were accurate -- no wrestling to get the parts bolted up.
Great sound at idle -- not loud but lets you know that there are some ponies under the hood.
A noticeable increase in noise under hard acceleration -- no problem other than keeping it down when I am in my neighborhood (I have a good grade up to my house and it would probably be annoying if I got on it coming up the hill).
Best of all -- it really makes the engine operate like I think is should. I always felt that when the RPMs go up the engine got a bit of a frantic, wild chipmunk-like feel -- I actually lugged the engine somewhat to try and stay out of the upper ranges when I was just cruising. That is all gone, the engine now has a nice throaty big bore feel.

Does your bike have ECO mode? Not sure what year by the pictures.  If it has ECO how does the pipe perform with it engaged?  I am considering the same muffler and a Guhl reflash but would not want to give up the great gas mileage on the highway and part throttle low end power to gain on top.

Couldn't say about the Area P but I have a Leo Vince slip on with Guhl Reflash. The ECO mode works exactly like it did before the Leo Vince and the Reflash. I average about 43 mpg in ECO mode but can get up to 50 mpg if constant cruise under 65 mph. I average closer to 39 mpg using the Guhl map. But I'm also use the right twisty thing on the handle bars more.

I only have about 400 miles on the new pipe and too many of those miles were at 100mph+ to really say one way or the other. I am assuming that between the weight loss and the freer breathing engine that it will help both the ECO and non-ECO modes.

I will vouch for Area P. My low mileage 2009 was dyno tuned this last weekend and after adjusting the Pcv it hit 156.7 hp and 102 lbs of torque. Stock air filter.

My friends 2008 with a ZX-14 dual exhaust made 145 hp on the same dyno, so those big pipes make a difference.

I just bought my first C14 and the PO had installed a full Area P exhaust with PC V and aftermarket air cleaner he got from Fuel Moto . Com and it sounds and performs awesome. He also removed the butterflies. It does not have ANY flat sport through the RPM range at all.

 My Area P carbon fiber muffler will be here next week.  I live about 90 miles from Guhl and will swing buy and have them do a reflash.
