The only way that Hayden is going to win, is if everyone in front of him DNFs....I just don't see it.  I like Hayden, always have, but he just doesn't have that something to get ahead and now he's getting a bit long in the tooth so I think it's a bit late, unfortunately for him.

Ever wonder if it was possible to match up all the current racers with all the racers from the late 70's to the late 80's era, what would happen? Say like Lawson, Roberts, Russell, Rainey, Shobert, Spencer, Schwanz, Mamola,, Doohan, Aldana, Sheen, Polen, Gardner. Pure fantasy I know.

I don't know about long in the tooth. I mean he is about 3 years younger than Rossi. I still think a different team would do him good. I think his contract with Ducati ends this year and I haven't read that he is staying or going so who knows?

Like they have Madden NFL, I wonder what they could do for MotoGP as far as a quality game that could encompass all the greats? That would be cool.

It would still be speculation as the results are up to the programmers.

Like any sport, most times as the players age in their late 20's and into the 30's, their reflexes slow and the results speak for themselves.  There are exceptions of course.  I love that Rossi won, however I don't think it's going to be a trend.  He may be in the top 5 for the rest of the series but to continually win races.....I don't think so.  And yes, I think he's long in the tooth as well.  If Lorenzo would have been up to snuff,  I can guarantee it would have been a different outcome.

Yeah simply not possible to compare.  The bikes in the 80s were DEMONS...they had no traction control, and they were far easier to crash, so the techniques applied to ride them were different....  People react differently to moving to different classes of bikes, and a guy who was good on the idiot machines of the late 80s might not be the kind of guy who'd do well on today's equipment.  A guy like Randy Mamola, I don't think, would do as well on today's machines.  Not that he was a world beater then..he was pretty darn good, but never a champion.
Do not go gentle into that good night.

I think Hayden had some demons set in his head after Honda dumped him... I was hoping when Rossi was signed/paired up with him again, it would help.  NOT!   ::)

The leg thing is a weighted pendulum.  Watch dirt bike riders, that leg they throw up front isnt used to touch down, it is to transfer more weight to the front tire.  Rossi may not say why, but he knows what's happening.  The rear brake becomes non existant as true threshold braking occurs as the back tire isnt in contact so the right leg is used for the weighting, the left foot is not used because shifting is still happening at some time during the cornering process.
Doubt it?  Next ride take your right foot off the peg and stick it out, see what changes on the attitude of the bike.

Rossi winning was awesome and seeing Lorenzo man up and finish in 4th?  Good stuff for the sport all around.
Hayden and Edwards?  Whatever edge they had is gone and I really doubt another team will give them that edge back, more mental than anything, that fear of an off is always there, fear leads to tension and tension slows everything down.  The differance between riders on the same team is just how deep do they bury their fear?  FEAR is False Evidence Appearing Real or Frozen Emotions Against Reality.  FEAR is natures way of preparing for a perceived danger adding adrenalin and tensing of the muscles in preparation of a response--BEFORE it happens.  At the pace these riders go it doesn't take much tension to make the differance between 1st and 10th.  Kinda like the advantage Rossi has with the leg waggle.  If it added no advantage he wouldn't be doing it and his explanation is pure art on the mental side, just another reason why he has been so good for so long, the complete package.
