Raced a Vette !!
« on: May 31, 2013, 09:57:33 PM »
Been almost exactly a year with my '08 Connie and today was the first time I launched her hard and clutchless shifted thru the first three gears just before redline.
A) - Holy Crap! Also got the front wheel in the air for the first time!
B) - Cleaned his clock inspite of the fact fact that I gave him the move.
C) - At the next light the Vette driver gave me thumbs up. A class act from anyone who gets second IMHO.
Has anyone mentioned these bike are fast?!
If it can't be fixed with a hammer you can sure as hell teach it a lesson.

Twice I've run against vette's with my 2010. Both were C5 Z06's. Easily pulled away up to 80mph before shutting down.

My '08 is running full Aera P exhaust with a K&N filter. Just had it dynoed about two weeks ago and it made just over 160whp. I am not posting the results because the flies were supposed to have been removed and due to miscommunication they were not. The bike will go back soon and have this work completed and be remapped. Once this is done I'll post the results. Five and a third pounds per horse power including rider's weight, the poor Vette didn't stand a chance.

The Corvette would eventually pull you on top speed, and just might clean your clock in twisties because they have so much more contact patch on the road surface, but it's fun to jump on some one who thinks they have a fast car :)

Be careful...I know of vettes with 800-900 hp... and you would never know it if you were next to them.

I've pulled over more then a few times to let a good handling car go by when in the canyons. Just won't (doesn't 'won't' make it sound like I actually have the skill but just won't use it?) go that fast in the twisties.
