wow, been away for a few hours and lots of good info. Not a mention to KI-PASS, oil or car tires. I even got my question fully answered with pictures and everything.
What's going on here?!  :o

Perhaps you have stumbled on to the Bizzaro C14 forum?   ;)

well, took off the hot wings winds and there was the foam, and there was 4 holes for the shorter replacement screws, but only 1 screw. I could drive to the dealer but: does anybody know the part number for these screws? I'd prefer to order them online, if possible. And no, I'm not in the US of A, I'm in Germany, so I need something I can work with online  :-[

EDIT: may be these?:

Bolt,Socket,6mm
part number 92153-0489

and

Washer, 10.4x15.9x0.5
part number 92200-0157

I bought the first 08 (2007) in the area and put over 80k on it. Took them off during the summer (less heat to the rider) and put them on in the winter (in contrast to the manual, it worked much better that way). Also in the winter, i took out the foam blocking the heat to the feet (two screws and spacers each side inside the fairing by the feet), worked great to keep the feet warm. Mine came with the screws inside the wings in the foam.

Pay attention now, see the 'wing' behind the vent?

Since that is my bike in the picture, I guess I have wings.  Thought they were on all 08's, but I guess not... tomp

I took them off and threw them in the dumpster along with the bazooka exhaust and 021 tires. I heard Connie say "THANK YOU"!!!!

All '08s and '09s came with these wings installed. As you can see now, they are removable.

so I went to the stealership. There are 3 in Munich, passionately engaged on a competition to be the worse stealerships in the Milky Way. But the winner is KawaMotor. Expensive, unfriendly, unprofessional. Unfortunately, they are the closest by a big margin, so for the stupid screws I dropped by, and I paid 2,50€ (3 USD) each  :'(
But bike is hot-wind-less now, and looks sleeker. Me likes it!!!

I like the looks of the bike with them off, but with a little testing (and my knobby knees), I found that I prefer them left on, both summer and winter.  With them off, I feel more cold air hitting my legs in the winter, and more engine heat blowing on them in the summer.

sounds like the opposite of what would be desired.

Thanks, I fixed it.

I'm sure others' results will vary, according to the riding gear, humidity, etc.  But for me, it was pretty clear that I needed to put them back on for comfort.  I also think that while Kawasaki initially marketed it early on as a "feature" and included extra bolts to change them out, they later may have realized that removing them didn't really have the desired effect and they quit including the extra hardware.
