Gumbi & Max,

Which wax do you guys use? I've never waxed mine, just plain water on a micro-fiber towell here, but I guess after 2 years I should put some wax on her...  :-\
All these are highly recommended, and will make the paint look new again. You will be glad you did it!

I have been using Mother's Synwax for a few years now and I like it.  Reasonable price, easy to apply and remove, seems to last a long time.  I even use it on the smooth, unpainted plastics and the headlights and windshield.

You should always leave some type of protection on the finish!

I protect my paint finish by keeping the KiPass battery fresh....this methodology has worked great thus far  ;D

I have yet to put an actual coat of wax on mine. I wash it then use Lucas slick mist speed wax. The finish probably isn't as protected as regular wax but it leaves a nice shine, doesn't make the bike slippery, works on all of Connie's surfaces and is easy and quick to apply. Seems to work pretty well at beading water and making it easier to claen the next time as well.
No, really, she is the best and I can prove it...

Connie has been sold. Replaced with 2013 Aprilia Tuono V4 APRC

I like to keep my bike clean too and I usually wax it twice a year. As I said before to the folks who say that you'd rather be riding your bike than cleaning it; you can't drink and ride but you sure can wash/wax your bike and drink.

What is this wax you speak of?  Assuming wax means work or some sort of expending energy,  I can't wax (work) at the same time as drinking.   :P

Oh really now?

That picture was taken from the seat of a motorcycle ;D

Gumbi, it aint laziness, it's simple ergonomics, I'd rather deal with the pain from maintenance needs than spend it on purtiness.  Twice a year she gets a thorough cleaning so I can check out fasteners and whatnot.  I use a cleaner that has the wax already in it.  FWIW, I cant stand a dirty shield in the AM, it will get cleaned, I bought a can of Plexus some time back, just to give it a shot, works at least as good as Pledge at what, 4 times the cost?
Here's what Jay uses ;D

Each to his own I guess, that is probably why they make different color bikes huh? I am still baffled why we think color makes one faster than the other  ::). The only thing I know is my black one is purtier than a silver one if its clean or dirty  ;D.

I see Jay is sticking to his story about a set-up picture. That's ok we know you took that stuff out of his side bag.  :rotflmao:

HA!  A black bike is dirty looking almost all the time; even soon after washing.  It shows every possible imperfection.  Black does look nice on the rare occasion it is actually clean, but give me silver any day.... just as nice looking, but clean looking for much, much longer!
