  You will never see them do that with The Enterprise. I was on the Forrestal CVA 59 the first the super carriers in 72&73. From the Forrestal web site,The Navy said if it was sank it would be in water to deep to dive probaly at least 3000' maybe deeper. They are too much like the newer carriers. Yes there are robots and newt suits but they cann't retrive much information. My guess is that they would dismantle them.

No, it will be scrapped and the reactors and their containment sections are to be buried. Who knows how much the rest of the ship is contaminated.
