Thank you for the link...I appreciate it!

Good luck with your project and let it know how it goes.   Looks like a lot of work :)   I am envious, since I need more light (with better placement) with the high beams when on back country roads at night....  it doesn't happen often, but when it does, it can be problematic.  But I am too lazy to do anything as extreme as you are doing, so I will throw some admiration in your direction.

LOL...thanks! I don't think anything will be as difficult as installing the CC was. I figure if I can do that the rest should be easy---er :o  We'll see...pics after I'm finished!

Oh, you are certainly correct on that.  And I also have no cruise control for the same reasons :)

Hellbender, since it's been a while since your lighting quest, any input on the lights? How are you liking the lights and placement that you went with? I'm looking at doing about the same set up but with the rotary knob dimmer on the dash.

Jrod, lights are awesome! I get a lot of compliments on the way they look, they're positioning and how visible they make me. I wouldn't change anything about them! I made a mount for the Fog lights on either side of my front tire. DO NOT mount the fog lights to your reflector brackets...EVER! I can share with you what I made and it is "rock solid" in holding the fog lights! I also mad my own brackets for my under-mirror mounts and they are working great too!

The lights are great at night, putting a lot of light "downstream" and keeping the way lit for me...love that! I like the fogs down low because they throw light out "elliptically" and so corners are well lit too.

A knob sounds good but consider about the setup I have. The 2 LED's under my mirrors (Model 44's from ADVmonster.com) have a wireless remote that you can order with the lights. That remote has a power button and a dimmer and the dimmer is something you set and forget. I set mine to be a certain level when my LO beams are active and when I switch to my HI beams the remote settings are over-ridden and the LED's go to ultra-bright...lighting the backside of the moon! I keep the remote in my glove box.

Set it and forget it does sound like a good idea. I'm glad you're still liking the set up. Within the month I'm looking at ordering the same lights. Can't have too much light on the front of a bike. I did read about your misadventure with the reflector bracket, that's a bummer. Did you put in aux switches for the two sets of lights? Well I guess the driving lights up top the fob could turn off. Just wondering if there's ever a time you need to turn them off, or is it good enough to just let them dim at low beam and it doesn't cause issues.

No switches for the lights and both sets of lights stay on...if the bike's on, the lights are on! The only time I could imagine having to turn them off is if you're in another state that doesn't allow for those lights in that position. If so, they can easily be switched off.

You won't be sorry...the lights are great! ADVmonster is great to work with. The guy from ADV fixed my light for free, the one that was damaged from the radiator incident.

Like I said before, I've had people pull up next to me at lights or into parking lots and tell me they saw me coming from over a mile away! That's when they become "priceless"!

Let me know if you have any questions regarding the lights or how to mount them. Feel free to PM me anytime.

Thanks Mike, I'm sure I'll have some questions for you when the lights come in.
