On Monday September 10 I road along with my father to the Motorcycle Museum in Anamosa, Iowa. There was a very good turn out of people to watch the event. The museum and J&P Cycle were hosting the arrival of the Cannonball Endurance Run. This run started in Newburg, Ny. and is going for 14 days across the United States to San Francisco, California, and the motorcycles they are riding are 1930s or older. There is 70 or 75 bikes in the run, and they are from all over the Globe and the U. S. A.. Some of them are restored to the high heavens and some of them are a bucket of rust and dripping allot of oil, and they are all having a good time it seemed like.
Man talk about some die hard riders. I talked to a few guys that have small machine shops set up in their support trailers. It would seem that it is tricky to find parts so they make them in the event of a breakdown.
