Cee Bailey Ultra Tour vs Vstream tall - which is larger?
« on: October 05, 2012, 10:35:54 AM »
I am looking for maximum wind protection and have narrowed my search down to the these to windshields.  However, it is difficult to determine which is taller and wider.

Can anyone answer this?

Look at the specs. I know it's hard because the VStream gives from headlight to top and the Baileys measures from the top bolt to the top of windscreen, but this gives you a pretty good idea.

Thanks. You're absolutely right, it is hard to determine. I had looked at their specs, and they measure from different points. My somewhat intuitive conclusion, is that the Vstream is a bit shorter than the extra tall ultra tour, but it is a bit wider presumeably toward the top of the shield. That's my best guess anyway.

Maybe someone that has used both will chime in.

Just buy both and then sell the one you don't want after they arrive and you try em out, that's what I did...  ;)

I parked next a bike with an ultra tour while I had my Vstream on and there is a noticeable difference.  Just eyeballing it there looked to be about two inches difference.

Can you clarify if the ultra tour was the taller of the two?

I believe Jeremy is correct. I pulled a string across my V-Stream's top mounting bolt holes and measured 15" from there to the top of the shield. They show the Ultra Tour Domed to be 17" and the Extra Tall Ultra Tour Domed to be 19" from the top holes to the top of the shield. I'm currently running the V-Stream but wish I had something about 2" taller.

The ultra tour was noticeably taller.  Also, both bike's shields were in the fully lowered position.

My biggest complaint about my Vstream would be the shaking at interstate speeds (especially around 18 wheelers).  But I sure do appreciate the extra wind protection when the temps dip below 40.

Well for the second straight fall trip to the BRP my dash suffered damage from the sun and a VStream.  I really like the VStream and would buy again, but remember to cover your dash when parked.  I even covered my needles with painters tape while moving after noticing my needle base suffered melting damage.  I am just going to keep it this way as the dealer may give me grief about another sun damage issue.

I am waiting until I hit 70,000 miles before I have my dash changed out.   A nice even number will be easy to remember.
