I'm thinking i'll just move over there and get me a job. At $670 for 15 minutes work I'll be rich quick.

Yes, and in your off time, run around with an ice pick, making more business.   ;D

Tanks guy,
I have contacted "Blue One" about his fender extender to see if they are still available as I like the design, appears to solve "future issues"

Cheers

Glad to help.  This is what Kawasaki should have done when the fender was designed.  However, once the extension is installed, it will appear to have come from the factory that way.  You won't be disappointed.  Be sure to follow the directions properly as once you have used the ABS cement the two parts will become one.  Also, be sure to remove the fender when installing the extension as trying to do it with the fender on the bike will probably insure getting it attached improperly.

+1 on the JB Weld used it to fix a hole created by a bolt in a 96 gold wing, summer of 2000. The guy who bought the bike said it has never leaked and he just sold it as is.

Radiators Guard

Quote
Did you have a rad protector installed?

It would be nice to know if they work or not...  Anyone had a hole with one of them installed?  I know I haven't.  I haven't hit any elephants on the road so I know it works for that.

They do work, when I had my wild life encounter of the expensive kind, had I did not had a radiator guard fitted I would not have ridden home.

One of the brackets that got shattered ended up stuck in the guard, it stopped the radiator from getting holed.

Rode home no leaks, sustained a dent under the cap on the side, insurance is replacing the radiator, I will keep this one as a spare, not fussed about the dent as it can not be seem unless the fairing is removed.

My repair quote shows a new radiator at AU$1600.00, not cheap to replace.
My Radiator guard is from Projek D, I bought a new one rather than mess around repairing the hole in the old one.

- metal filled epoxy works. Even out on the road to fix an emergency leak for the rad.

JB weld should be used only as an emergency repair.  Proper repair by a qualified radiator shop is always the right way to go.

Yeah and I think we all know that, but the product is just so good on rads...

The fender extension (blue one Larrys sells them) and Cox guard were the first farkles I got, just looking at that Rad wide open down low  :o
It's hard to believe Kaw does not have one  installed from the factory.

A radiator guard screen built into the radiator would be great, wouldn't it? But then they would not get as many radiator sales, and how many folks are going to not buy the bike without it, when no other brand has it? This reminds me of Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, quality discussions.

I am big on the fender extensions front and rear too, but Kawa and their dealers see us putting "fender eliminators" on our bikes and make the fenders even smaller.

I believe that a radiator guard and a fender extender should be the first things that you add to the bike.  Kawi should have included these in the initial design!
