You guys realize that you are supposed to cushion the bike with your body, right?

I had that discussion with my girlfriend many times. She's a doctor and sometimes has shifts in the emergency service in a hospital. So obviously she's completely under-qualified to give her opinion  ;D
Build bridges, not walls.

Education is important. Riding my bike is importanter.

Your girlfriend objects too sacrificing herself to save your bike? How selfish is that?

Hmmm, it may be time to move on Martin. But, she is a doctor so it's a toss up.  ;)

Scratched Cages are like dirt...They're a sign that you actually ride.

Of course, they're also a sign that you're a little clumsy, unbalanced, and you don't keep things very clean.  :-[

2 parking lot drops and counting... once to the right, once to the left. As long as I keep the ground time to those (and not the 30+mph sliding kind), I'm "okay" with it.

Kind of like the 5 second rule for food ;)

I thought that it was a 3 second rule? I REALLY hate to think that I've been wasting food all these years because of 2 more seconds!   ;)

Its a rule that is context sensitive. Snob banquet, 0 seconds, alone in a cabin in the woods, 30 seconds.

Let's apply this to a connie drop. No witness, 10 min and it never happened. Witness but no one you ride with, 2 min. Witness from fellow riders, 15 seconds. Don't blame me, I didn't make the rules ;)
