Martin, perhaps the bike is destined for a make over.  Check out this thread and video.  And they said it couldn't be done.

Horrible video, but neat bike... when he started it and started moving, sounds just like a Concours!  Wish he had some photos posted so we could actually see it.

The best I could find.  It was tiny and I expanded it.  Must have been a low MP shot....

FWIW, the owner/pilot of the GTR now races a BMW S1000RR.  Probably why no other pics are available.  Now if Martin would turn his into a righteous streetfighter, we could have lots of pics to enjoy.  Martin, are you listening?    ;D

Yeah, almost looks like just a frame grab from the video :(  Blech.

Neat bike, but I think I'd get a zx if I wanted to drag race lol. That's like getting a zx and putting a huge windshield, saddle bags, and a top case on it  ::)

Max, it probably would cost as much as a house if you bought each piece individually from Kawasaki!

Back in the late 70's a parts guy I new spent his lunch breaks piecing out a Volare. IIRC it came out to well over $100k and the car was only about 6 new.
God does not subtract from a man's life the number of hours spent riding a motorcycle

2008 C14, Muzzy exhaust, PCV, heated grips, Sergeant seat, PR4 GTs, Donovan headlight mod, Ronnies highway pegs, Cox rad guard, "The Big Rack", Grip Puppies, XM, many more made by me parts to come.....

Daaa Daaa Daaa Daaa (with my fingers on my ears)

seriously, I'm glad I didn't see that pic before. I have enough stuff on my plate right now scouting for parts, to add some thoughts about the style. I looks beautiful (or it looks like it looks) and would love going that route, I just love the comfort more  :-\
But I seem to remember a crashed C14 on sale somewhere...  ;D

Can't blame you for that.  The 14 is a fantastic road bike.  I would love to have a street fighter, but naked bikes, of which I've had dozens, are so limiting in higher speed conditions, especially here in Texas, where "up the road a piece", is normally 2-300 miles.  Not much fun without wind protection.  Hope your bike goes back together soon; it has  to be a beautiful time of the year there.  tomp

If I had a dollar for every mistake I made that luckily did NOT end up being an accident, I would have some nice extra spending money.

Truer than you know.....especially if you have to pay for the parts you broke in the accident. I would rather throw money at fixing a motorcycle than putting up with fixing me.
I don't always ride a street bike. But when I do, it's a Concours. Ride safely my friend.

I get that, Heard today a life long friend and riding buddy, fell off of a 20' deck while moving some cabinets over the weekend.  He broke or fractured bones from skull to foot, but he is suppose to make a full recovery.  He's 65 and hopefully medicare and supplements will help pay the medical and rehab costs.  Probably could buy many motorcycles for what this will cost.... Pray that he recovers and gets back on the road and to fishing, his two favorite activities, very soon... tomp

@tomp: best wishes to your friend.

Regarding my accident, a small update...
Today the DHL brought the last parts. Now my bike looks like the Airbus, with bits coming from all over Europe. Let's see (unless indicated, parts are second hand):
- from different places around Germany I've got:
          > headlight assembly. It has a small scratch on the left upper corner, but nothing that bothers me or the light beam.
          > new front fender from a dealer that went belly up in Frankfurt and is clearing up the warehouse.
          > braket for the side pannel
          > the mask around the headlight, new
          > the plastic "lip" on the right side of the front fender. I'll salvage the left one from my own old (broken) fender.
          > brake hand lever.
          > front turn light assembly.
- from a salvage in Ureterp, up north of Netherlands:
          > right side case
          > rear panel
          > middle panel
          > foot peg assembly (including brake pedal)
          > mirror
- from a salvage in Nice, south of France:
          > new side fairing
          > lower fairing panels: from a salvage in .
- a bit that I can't remember came from the UK, and another from Denmark.

I'm going this afternoon to the dealer to give him everything and let him work the magic  :)

PS: ah, yes... my toe. It's healing.

Very sorry to hear of your accident. Glad you made out of it without more serious injuries.
I was so bummed when I wrecked my 2008 with 44,000 miles on it. It looked like the damage on yours, but the other side. The repair estimate from the dealer was $8200. I made out good because I had full replacement coverage and got 110% of my purchase price.
