Murph's risers... No go
« on: July 28, 2012, 10:42:51 PM »
Got my risers a few days ago. Decided to install them tonight in prep for my sunday morning ride.
Seems no matter how hard I try, I just can't seem to wiggle the risers in to fit with the standard length of my hidraulic hoses. Has anyone else encountered this problem?
I thought Murph's risers were supposed to fit with the standard hardware, no mods needed.
What am I doing wrong?
Any helpful info will be much appreciated.
Stay cool, ride safe.

Did you move the square block on the line from the upper triple clamp to the tapped hole on the riser?? Any pics, that would help us help you...

What ZG said.  They do fit... unless your lines got wet and shrunk... ;)

You may be able to gain a little slack by SLIGHTLY loosening the banjo fitting on the master cylinder and turning the connection so it is a straighter run to the mounting block. Don't loosen it enough to allow fluid to escape or air to enter the line. Be sure to tighten afterwards.

Not sure what year bike you have but there should be no issues installing Murphs risers...simply follow the install instructions. Relocate the blocks for want of a better word will give you the length you need.
