+1 on the revenue generation!

I think that the reason that it's not considered a moving violation is because of the difficulty in proving who was actually driving the car when it failed to make the stop at the red light. It's my car but they don't know who was behind the wheel. I could say that it's was a friend of mine who has moved out of the state. What are they going to do then? Its way easier to just send the ticket to the registered owner and be done with it. Revenue generation!

Right.  Amber means drive like heck cause the lights gonna turn red.  At least, that's what they do around here.  And to tell you the truth I wish they would put a camera at the intersection to my subdivision.  I can't tell you the number of times I've seen cages run that light since it's been put in.  And they can put a speeding camera as well cause they don't pay any attention to the 45mph speed limit either.  Hey, if you don't speed or run red lights you ain't got nothing to worry about....for the most part.

We have the red light combined with the speed on green. It certainly does slow the traffic and make drivers much more aware. The cameras are rotated to different intersections so if you are feeling lucky you can take your chances.

Best one I saw was on an intersection that had the cameras and just over the rise past that intersection was a speed trap and they were busy writing tickets to folks who probably slowed through the intersection then sped up. Would be a real PO if someone ended up with a ticket from both LOL.

Wish there was a camera that caught text messaging yo yo's .....
