Painted lid protector
« on: June 07, 2012, 09:30:03 PM »
Seeing most bags get scuffed on top of the lid near the front of the bag. I made a set of plates to cover the area my wife is most likely to hit when getting on the bike. I did not want them to detract form the paint job on the bags so I color matched them to blend in with the bag. I will give these a try and see how they work. Might have to make a larger set. We will see.

You could make them a little bigger and use a hinge to mount them then connect a cable to the rear brake arm and .......

Never mind.

I find my foot hits the outer corner just about where your plate ends.  Mine would need to be a little bigger.  Maybe clear plexi painted from the bottom side so it can be buffed when required?  Did you put a rubber bumper or similar under it?

Yes, I put some felt under the plate as a buffer.
