This was during my dad's time in Vietnam, although he was at Phan Rang.

Thanks for posting Jim. Interesting to see how many propellor driven plans were still being used at that point. Though I was but a lad in 68, I do clearly remember the war. My uncle served there in 62 as an advisor to the Vietnamese army.

I miss them...
I grew up with the C-54s, C-124's, KC-97s. Dad was a crew chief on the B-36, C-54, and KC-97.

That airport doesn't look that much different to this day except for the terminal. I'm surprised at the amount of civil aircraft present at that airport at that time - both commercial airliners and general aviation.
