Everything happens for a reason
« on: April 30, 2012, 06:26:28 AM »
I picked up a 1994 GL1500 Gold wing over the weekend for dirt cheap.  I WAS going to ride it to work today; but I just didnt feel it  in my gut.  Listen to that voice in your head. D@MN forest rats  :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

I'm fine, Chevy tough  :o
I 'm thinking they were kamakazi(sp) deer.  I believe they spotted my alum shaft arrow antennae and tried to take me out before I had the chance to thin the herd out any more.

Yup our white tails grow to a darn good size here in the midwest.  I figure a little buff and polish should clean it right up  ???

Too bad about the truck.  I HATE deer.  Hunt them to extinction.  But I thought the arrow-antenna was a Toyota option.  I have had mine for about 15 years.  Time to refletch it.

Snarf,
Glad you're all right, WOW talk about having a 6th sense. I think we all have had second thoughts about jumping on our rides every so often, never seen it play out like this.
Deer are just as dangerous here in NC.
Please, no rush on the block off plates, send them when your schedule permits.

Nosmo, do you really have the "Club" on a old Toyota pickup?  Isnt that kinda like trying to keep somebody from stealing a dollar bill by hiding it under a gold brick?  :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao:
I'm sorry I just couldn't resist.

I had full coverage, I should hear back from the adjuster any day now (well that's what they tell me)

HAHAHAHAHA!!
I just use the old Toyota truck as a storage case for the Club so nobody steals IT!
Actually, around where I live, these older Toyotas are highly prized by the meth-heads and other low-lifes as they can sell them easily to the local chop-shops, where in 24 hours or less they disappear to become a pile of spare parts for the mud-runners.  I know steering wheel locks don’t stop much, but it should slow them down for the three seconds it takes me to grab the .44 and………..well, you know….
Same reason I Club the GMC and disc-lock both motorcycles.
Besides, that truck (a 1990 X-Cab 4x4) only has 358,000 miles on it, and I want to keep it until at least 400,000.
