gPinkThe Cooler is NOT waterproof. Two reasons why. First I wanted to use the Energy Shield aluminized fabric to line the cooler due to its superior thermal characteristics, more than any other material we tested. As such these same characteristics make it impossible to create a thermal sealed water tight seam as with regular vinyl liners used in other "waterproof" soft sided coolers . Secondly the clamshell design would make a water proof liner a moot point as the zipper would leak.In field testing ice was used in a heavy duty zip lock freezer bag and it worked just fine. Patrick
