I use a length of brass tubing that just fits into the tee -- it keeps the tee from rotating, and acts as a guide for the new fuel line. I lube the end of the new line with a bit of spit, then slide it over the brass tube and onto the tee. I found a very long pair of forceps at Harbor Freight that I use to hold a spring style hose clamp open. Slide the clamp over the line down to the tee, release the forceps clamp, and the new line is in place.

I tried your technique and it made it so easy even a Turnip Truck Driver can do it.  I used a bit of heat on the end of the fuel line and some 3-in-one  and it slipped on so easy.  Thanks for the tip.  :chugbeer:
