china parts ok?
« on: April 25, 2015, 05:26:39 AM »
as some might have read, I had too close an encounter with a car last Monday, and now I'm sourcing parts for my black '08.
The most expensive things are the mirror (170$), fairings and specially the headlight (550$). So I found in fleabay these two things:
mirrror: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Kawasaki-GTR1400-Left-Right-Black-Rear-MIRROR-NEW-2007-2012-08-09-10-/320903836195?hash=item4ab75bf223&vxp=mtr
It is a pair, but I don't mind having an extra left mirror. Anyway, they do look the part, I can't find much of an issue with them.
headlight: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Clear-Front-Headlight-Headlamp-For-KAWASAKI-GTR1400-2008-2011-08-09-10-11-Set-/161626545959?hash=item25a1b15f27&vxp=mtr
I put links to the US ebay, but they ship to Germany as well so that's not the issue. My question is: does any of you any idea about the quality of these items?

I'm not skeptical about the low price because I know for a fact that what you pay to Kawasaki or any other OEM through the dealer prices, it's about 8 times the cost for them. They have to design it, order it, stock it, distribute it, market it, etc., so their margin is not as outrageous as it seems. These Chinese guys (who make these components anyway for the Japanese, European and US-American manufacturers) skip most of that. I just wonder about the quality.

Unless they are counterfeit, they are Kawasaki parts, aren't they?  But remember that nothing comes with the panels, you either have to buy all the other little bits or transfer them from the old panel.
