Sliding forward on the seat remedies?
« on: February 14, 2012, 06:44:04 AM »
Reading through some searches, it seems many have experienced an issue with sliding forward on the seat. I had this same problem on my K13GT.

Just curious what people have done with any success to solve this problem??

I tried a Sargent seat, it helped some but still had the same problem. I went with a Corbin seat, quite hard but it stopped the forward slide.

I also have a Sargent seat with Tech Spec grips and it works very nicely.  There are quite a few good seats out there and there is an a$$ for each of them.  I am very patiently waiting for a Baldwin (newest version) to come up for sale here.  You can start here if you want to do some research.

I don't slide forward but I have Spenser's mod to my seat (http://greatdaytoride.com/Home_Page.php). I'm not sure if the mod is the reason I don't have the problem since I only had the stock seat for a short while.

I don't think the Sargent pushes forward much.

Get a passenger behind you and stop for a stop light.
The Tech Spec grips help a lot.

Well, I have the Sargent "Pod", so it would be impossible to have a passenger.  Plus, my legs are simply too short to operate the bike with a passenger, anyway (I have enough of a time with just the bike).   But I know what you mean :)

Hmm, suddenly I feel lonely :(    Wonder if my Maine Coon would want a ride?
