So, I should have this tent soon, share your opinions.  Lots of room, even for your bike and gear ;D

I've been looking at those also, wonder if they would do a group discount?

that is truely sweeeeet.
The C14 will certainly test it's "capacity", being the buffalo it is, but I'm sure it will fit well....
and the bike can be used for a "heater" in inclement weather....heheheheh
at least it will allow plugging in the Gerbings conveniently.

I have a bike cover and one of these:

It's plenty of room for a single rider with gear. You can pick them up on sale for ~$100.00.

JJ
Back is still suckin, 'nuther injection today, L3/4 area.  Bypass sucks bad, my buddy had it back in 2000 and the scar is still sensitive to the touch, he has to wear open necked shirts.  Pappy had a quad back in 96, once things knitted up no problemo, 3 days in the ward, one day in a recovery home (broke him out, they sucked bad), and then home.  The next year he and my buddy drove up to AK for some fishing and clamming, after digging clams and on the way to Homer Spit Pappy had the signs of another HA, 2 stints later all is well.  So, the moral of the story is if we abuse our body things start breaking, one of the first to go is the tires, a bald spot here and there so we end up with a spare tire, then we have the electrical gremlins.  Sometimes we have fuel delivery problems and after some time, depending on how hard we have been ridden, things start cracking.  So, I guess if we was museum pieces we would be pristine or stuffed away in some place covered in dust.  I sure as heck hope and pray that you have as good a recovery as is possible and that the pain from the procedure leaves ya as quick as it did Pappy.  Heck, he is 80 and he was out splitting and hauling wood the last few days, it's something he is familiar with and something Alzheimers hasn't yet robbed him of.

So, I got this tent for the space, I will be using it for touring and Dual Sporting/ADV riding.  I have several other tents but the comfy ones are just too big when broke down and the don't have the same kind of space this one does.  To be able to load or unload out of the weather will be nice, a place out of the sleeping area to change into dry clothes, cook, and hang the wet clothes will be really nice. There will be enough space for a few friends to share the days ride out of the weather sipping on the adult beverage of our choosing.  My next item will be a small enough lantern that provides light and heat, hopefully one that uses the canisters that my Jet Boil uses, I also have an MSR multi fuel stove and 2 large gas bottles, always nice to have some backup gas for those just in case moments.  I found out yesterday that the safety org I teach for is becoming a distributor, I will see about a group sale and post up the results.  Heck, once I get it I will park connie inside, bags and tail box on to give everyone an idea of it's size.

JJ, again, prayers to you and your family on a speedy recovery.

Those guys were advertising over on ADVrider for a while.  Seems kinda pricey to me when you could just put a cover over the bike and buy a separate tent.

But to be able to park the bike inside out of the weather and out of sight of the masses?  To have the space for a group of friends and not in the sleeping area?  And ease of setup is great, after a day of DS riding in the middle of who knows where, it's raining out, your'e wet, bike needs some TLC, up she goes and in you are ;D  I do have some advantages being an instructor, taxes being one of them, the other is some industry related discounts.  Between this and KIPASS I feel totally protected, with papa Kimber as my guardian angel I almost feel saintly :o

Sometimes I forget that you are in the Pacific northwet.  A shared tent/parking spot would come in handy.

Looks very nice, but I don't understand how you get in and out of the tent when the bike is parked.

One drawback is you can only set the tent where you can park the bike which won't always be the best tent site.

+1 on the Half Dome 2 - nice and roomy for all my gear, and still relatively small when packed up.

Nice idea on the tent + garage (but pricey) - thinking it would be good for off-road as I haven't seen many campsites it would work in with the Connie or the Vulcan.

I agree. There's only been a couple times where I camped next to my bike.

Also, for those casual/fair weather campers, you can pick up any small 2 man dome. Then, have some 12" aluminum poles made here: http://www.polesforyou.com/. Roll it up in a bundle with some string and it's smaller than 90% of the packing tents on the market. A friend of mine did this to his Wal-Mart Ozark Trails tent. It fits nicely in his saddlebag and has more room than my 1/2 dome...

Primary use will be for DS riding and some little cross country trips I'd like to do.  When the misses is with me it'll be motel sixes ;D

Wannacut is awesome, it's where my retirement cabin will be built, I have property just accross from Sun Cove Resort all the way to the top.  Are you from the area?  I have a boat ready to launch and lots of camping space, water and power as well.
