forum hosting
« on: January 31, 2012, 05:43:42 PM »
I need to set up a simple forum for about 75 people maximum.  I'm looking for suggestions of forum hosting sites and / or general purpose web hosting sites to use.  It's non-commercial and with only 70 potential users, not heavily trafficed.  Mainly just a place of registered members to post information and pictures.

Any guys (Rick included) that have any experience.

If your needs are small, Google Groups or Yahoo! Groups may fit the bill. You can allow as many, or as few, permissions as necessary. Subscribers only, invite only, publicly viewable, etc. Often a small/no fee depending...

If you have your own domain name, plenty of options, and plenty of fees too. Management can be a chore.

If you don't mind 'piggy-backing' on another domain, it may be cheaper fee wise. Hypothetical: www.billhig.zggtr.org/

Lots of choices out there.  Many hosting services like www.a2hosting.com offer hosting at $5/month.
