Need help with a part number
« on: October 23, 2011, 06:29:04 PM »
The rubber pad that goes between the windshield and the clamp that holds the windshield to the arm mechanism. I only have one of them, the left side and I need to get the right side. I am looking at the Ron Ayers fiche and it is really hard to tell what the number is. There are a few parts that are in the correct area, but they all simply say: "pad, upp" or "pad, inner".

Really? I don't get it.  Nothing against you, I just don't get it. The illustration could be better, that's for sure.

Just to make sure, this is the thin rubber part between the bracket the windscreen is attached to? Because that's what I need.

That is the one for between the windshield and the bracket.  I know this because I ordered a set since mine were kind of brittle the first time I changed windshields.

BTW, this is the one I was looking for. I ended up ordering it from the dealer and they came in yesterday. Installed it just now, only removed the screws from the side I needed to work on. Something like $6 each (Ron Ayers has it for $2.42)

Going through Ron Ayers would have been cheaper, but I figured if it was wrong and I got it at the dealer, I could refuse it. The guy at the dealer said I should use their parts microfiche on their web site as it's better (it is the same, but better clarity than Ron Ayers). If anyone needs to zoom more than the Ron Ayers Microfiche allows, try the one at this dealers site: http://www.tracymotorsports.com

Some dealers will price match if you bring in the printout.  It's worth asking.

Yeah, too late now and not that big a deal anyway. $3 vs $6 isn't going to break me. But good thinking.
