Secondary Butterfly Valve Screws

A couple of years ago I removed my secondary flies and installed a PCV & autotune. Now I want to remove the PCV & autotune and get a flash. I have lost the screws for the fly valves. Does anyone know where to get them? or what size they are?

Also, if anyone is interested in a PCV & autotune let me know.

Sorry I don't have info on the screws. Check out bike bandits website, easy to find stuff like that.  Why do you want to remove the PCV and autotune and get a flash. Is there a link as to why this is preferred?

I had PCV with the AutoTune system and  no flies.
I put the flies back in and removed the PCV and the Autotune and  then had my bike flashed with SSiF tune. 
Much better all round  performance  with the Flash.  Read up on it here. The best part I like is the bike is no herky jerky- it is now very smoooth!  especially when coming back on the throttle when I am in the twisties.

I have some around here somewhere, i haven't found 'em yet, if I do I'll post up the size.

  OK, found 'em. there's a tap with them, i use it to clean the threads in the shafts, it's marked 3mm and .5  . I bought them at Ace hardware, if that helps - Steve

When you do put them in make sure you center the butterfly plate properly and that they are working before you finish reassembly. The screws are not self-centering on the plates holes (like a Hyabusa) and allow them to wiggle around a little which can make them catch on the throttle body causing an FI error. This happened to me and had to disassemble and re-center the plates. After doing this I almost stripped the heads of a few screws and had a tough time getting them out to replace.

I traded in a ZX14 once, and went to put it back to stock for the new buyer. I got the  flies back in, but one screw broke going in. I don't know if the hole was clogged, or I started the screw crooked, but it broke off. The other screw was tight, and it was the last one, so I said "screw it" it'll be fine. I took a black magic marker and wrote "got it" on the butterfly valve, so if the next guy saw it, he would know the screw didn't go down the intake.
Long story, that's still too long, the local shop called a couple of years later and asked about the note on the butterfly. The guy had a code on the dash from the butterfly getting stuck. They took the flies back out, and shipped it.
I'd just leave it. I've never heard of a Connie or ZX14 having a problem with no secondary flies. The new flash will open them up early anyway, so screw 'em.

The flies are a significant part of my flash. There are places where they are open less than stock. Some places more than stock. For the real benefits of throttle response, smoothness and fuel economy, the secondaries are an integral part of the tuning. Steve

I just want to caution anyone who is reinstalling the butterflies to be sure you have them lined up and not dragging on the ports before you do the final tightening. If they get offset, they'll drag and mess up the secondary settings or hang up completely.

  when I have done re-inistalls, I stuffed some paper towels down between the secondary and primary plates to catch any escapees. Never open the throttle during the work until all the screws are reinstalled. You can then use a long needle nose plier to pull the paper towel out. Don't bunch it all up in there to much, because you are gong to be pulling past the secondary fly and if there's to much paper towel it's pretty difficult to remove past the secondary fly.

 When you're done turn the key on ,and open/close the throttle to set the secondary flies. you might get a code initially, but when they become sync'ed it will clear.

  MAKE SURE YOU USE RED LOCTITE!

That throws a wrench into my timeline.  I need to find some and re-install, are they all the same or are there differences between the 08/09 and the 10 and later models?
