Tachometer error?
« on: October 30, 2011, 08:41:57 AM »
Since its obvious Kawasaki can't make a speedo anywhere close to accurate at speeds, does anyone trust the tacho?

The tach is known to be off.  The 10.5k redline is actually only 10k, which is where the rev-limiter kicks in.  I've read elsewhere that the tach is off by as much as 1k RPM in some spots.

Mine seems to be pretty spot on, at least when I have the dynojet program hooked up, I havent run it up to redline, but close to 9 grand and both the tach and program were awefull close.  I'm looking for a way to raise the redline to 11.5, should help compliment the ZX TBs once I get em on ;D

This company has some excellent reviews on re flashing ECU's on all type of vehicles (located on an FZ6 forum but used on an R1). They can apparently undo most (if not all) factory limits.
