ZG1400CAF vs ZG1400CAFL
« on: October 29, 2011, 06:54:02 PM »
Does anyone know the differance between the two models? I read that the CAF model cannot be sold in california. I didn't realize Kawi made a bike that couldn't be sold in CA.

California emissions equipment including an extra vapor recovery tank under the right side plastic, at least on the '08 and '09.

Thats why some in the fruits and nuts state choose to get a current year model pre owned bike out of state. I know there is a mileage limit to bring one in to Cally from elsewhere. I think its 7500 miles but may be wrong. The mile limit is set so everybody doesn't go out of state and get a new one and register in Cally the next day.

Thank the C.A.R.B. for this stupid requirement.

7500 miles has to be on a bike that does NOT meet the California smog emissions standards. There are bikes that already are consider 50 state bikes, the 1800 Gold Wing is one of them.
