Heated Gear Hookup

Looking for a little advice as it is starting to cool down here in the Mid-Atlantic.
Wanted to get my wiring harness in for my Gerbing heated gloves and was thinking of using the accessory lead under the dash.
From what I have read it is on a 5 amp fuse which should be fine as the heated gloves only draw 2.2 amps 27 watts, and that is all that will be on there - should this be ok ??
Not looking at needing alot of electrical hookups for this bike, so no foreseeable need for an accessory fuse box and I do not want to go directly to the battery for the gloves.
Let em know what you think and what you and others have done.

If you are just running your gloves off of it, you should be fine.  You don't plan on adding any other electrical farkles? Other wise I would recommend  adding a fuse block to make it easier.

I just sucked it up and ran the factory pigtail to the battery.  Routing it from the battery to an open space under the seat was a major PITA but it's a more functional location than the accessory socket anyway.

Have never needed much more - gps will plug into the dash socket, but that is only for trips.
I have rechargeable heated vest, so only the gloves.
Battery tender pigtail will go to the battery direct.
Had a acc fuse panel on the V-Strom and basically it did what the C14 already has.
Will go the accessory lead route for now until a further need pops up.

If you already have a pigtail battery tender connection, THAT can be your heated vest source.

and handle gerbing x2?( say vest and gloves)   or......

I wouldn't, I'd wire right off the battery,or as it was discussed before the crash, wire right to the output side of the alternator at the fuse connector to the battery? I think Brian( BDF )posted that info.

Like stated above, the Battery Tender pigtail can power your gear just fine if you have the SAE to coax adapter ($6 from Warm n Safe).

For the 2010 and newer crowd...is it possible to wire into the resistor for the heated grips?

That would be super handy.

I don't think the controller for the Grips would handle grips AND gloves....

I ran my coax connector direct to the battery with it's own seperate fuse, but i have it coming out on the right side handlebar.  that way my dual heat troller gets clipped to the tankbag, the power goes to the bars and I am toasty warm (I run jacket, gloves, pants and socks :) )
