To answer your question about what will transfer,I was able to transfer my foam padding thats in the lower half of the panel but didn't have any luck with the decals, once they came off they were done.

I found the same thing on the letters, so I'm just going to take them off both sides.  Over $30 for one new set of letters, no thanks.  I might just install the new panel without the pad that's glued to it.  You can't buy it from Kawi anymore, it's now obsolete, so perhaps it's no longer needed.
