Navigation shopping/recommendations
« on: July 25, 2011, 12:19:03 PM »
After doing a 400 mile ride this past Saturday (Olympia 2 White pass 2 Chinook pass 2 Seattle and back to Oly) I am pretty sure I want a Garmin Zumo. I just installed KB risers yesterday from Murph's kits.

My question is what kind nav and mounts would you guys recommend for my set up? Is the Zumo 660 the way to go?

I just got back from my trip and used my Garmin 765t.  I WILL NEVER DO THAT AGAIN!  While it worked mostly flawlessly, I couldn't read the display in the sun.  It was impossible to see at any angle.  I am definitely looking at the Zumo as soon as I win the lottery!  I will use the RAM mount and mount it right between my handlebars over the gooseneck.

Which Zumo the 660 or 665? Is there much of a difference? On ebay I saw many sunshades for navs.

I suggest any of the Zumo's and mounting brackets from Murph's.  I got a refurb 550 from Amazon and like it but if buying new I would go either 660 or 665, depending on how much jing I had in my pocket at the timel.
