C14 Rear-Sets?
« on: July 11, 2012, 08:18:19 PM »
Has anyone found a source for aftermarket Rear-Sets for the C14? I'm looking for a rear-set that doesn't push the heal of my boot outward.

Being in the business, I'm usually pretty good at locating aftermarket parts. I've been doing some digging and haven't been able to find anything in the way of rearsets for the Connie. This Striker set you posted is very, very nice though. Not quite sure I'd be willing to spend $620 but it does seem to be a well made, good looking set. The website doesn't say but just looking at the set, it appears as though it'll allow you to change to GP shifting if you're so inclined which is a nice option.

A bit off-topic but it looks as though the last picture in that bunch is the rearsets mounted on an FZ8 which is what I ride. I've seen comparable sets from companies like Vortex and Rizoma that are nearly half the price. Unfortunately those companies don't make a set for the Concours though.  :(

You can convert the stock shifter to the GP pattern.

I noticed that as well. I'm wondering IF it's the same?

You can convert the stock shifter to GP pattern as well but isn't it a bit of a pain? Don't these rear sets make it much easier to swap between the two? I could be wrong but that was my impression. Also, I really doubt the sets are exactly the same as they have a few different bikes pictured. I'm sure you just tell them what bike you have when ordering and they send you out the specific set that fits your bike. I can't see one set fitting all those different bikes especially because they span numerous manufacturers.

I've always been partial to Woodcraft rearsets but they don't make them for the C14 either........slackers.

If you consider the removal of one bolt, slipping off the shifter arm from the shaft going into the transmission,  rotating the shifter arm 180 degrees,  sliding the shifter arm back on, reinstalling the bolt and then adjusting the shifter rod linkage to you liking a difficult task, then you might need to just let someone else do it for you.  ;D

Oh, that sounds easy peasy! I was under the impression that it was a bit more involved than that. I personally don't have a Concours so I don't know too much about them aside from stuff relating to the products we make for them. You learn something new every day, I suppose!

Exactly, because I would love to get a set of rearsets.
