how many brain cells, did you waste as a youth???
« on: September 24, 2016, 08:49:50 PM »
so, I was listening to some old National Lampoon stuff today, and stumbled upon something I spent hours listening to.. while altering and flushing unused brain cells from my cranium..

yes... the feared Firesign Theatre... many are too young, or lived in cloistered homes.... and never heard these things..

I'm gonna go on a new renewal campaign to re- iterize this lunacy... enjoy...
(i actually spent many hours back in time, recording every album onto VHS Hi Fi Stereo to preserve, now, its a computer stroke away..)

the first to destroy my reality...

trying to find side 2... argggg

just for the folks that need video, to visualize words...

just gotta say that video, ruins
everything someone could visualize while simply listening to the old recordings..

meh

I'm old enough to remember listening to it, but young enough to not have enjoyed any of the music they played.

As an aside, about the same time I remember the KISS transistor radio came out. I wanted one so bad because I thought it only played KISS songs! Ah, young, impressionable minds.

Hi,
Yea, I remember the King Biscuit Flour Hour in the mid 70's!

A buddy and I went to see a girl he was getting something from.

She was a few years older than us (18) and I guess her parents had money.

Good lookin girl with the 70's straight hair, granny glasses, ect., ect.!

She also had a Marantz Stereo about as big as a suitcase! (way out of my price range!)\

I remember that a KBFH Concert was playing at the time! (Those were the daz!)

I remember some Firesign Theater. I didn't listen to much of it but remember some of the classic stuff like "Dave's not here" and a name that disease game show: "you have the black plague!".

I just realized "Dave's not here" was Cheech and Chong, but good stuff anyway.

I'm not going to click on those vids without being drunk.  That's the way I and my friends listened to Firesign in the 70's.....out of our minds.   Ah, the good ole days.  I still use some of their sayings.  The Cheech and Chong skits were equally hilarious.
