I transferred a warranty from a private seller via an email to Kawasaki with an attachment of my bill of sale. Took about 3 weeks for my warranty card to come back. Kawa customer service rep told me that the original warranty sticks to the bike like glue...but...extended warranties can be cancelled and refunds given to the person who purchased the warranty...so be sure to transfer quickly. Check with Kawasaki moments before you close the deal to be sure the warranty is still in effect.
Thus my directives of the procedure...Kaw will not renig on a plan once you have paper, just ain't happening. KPP when issued is golden. No fear.
Once its in effect that is, and that does not take place till the current one expires, but I've not seen an extension rebuked yaet. Please don't spread fear of something that has never taken place to date as of yet. Not nice.
As I said before, if transferred by a legit Kaw dealer, face to face, confirmation is IMMEDIATE.. that's why I cautioned about doing online stuff... 3 weeks? Man... when you purchase a KPP extension from Pete, your confirmation is in your hands in ONE week, maybe 10 days at the most....
Depending on when and how you do it. Best bet is to follow the instructions, write everything down, send him a pre email, and call him... not open on Mondays, so Tuesday thru Friday, mid morn is best.
He has been stellar since we worked this deal out... I don't see it changing... but it can.. as I'm sure other dealers hate the fact they can't make $300 for filling out a single form... go figure....
