I didn't know that ape hangers were illegal in Illinois. "Handgrips below head height". LEOs certainly do not enforce that law around here, that I know of at least.
Around here, it seems the LEOs are only interested in people speeding and not coming to an ABSOLUTE [and unnecessary] stops at stop signs and such. Nothing done about blue lights, loud exhausts, jacked up bumpers, lack of using turn signals, tailgating, maladjusted headlights, impeding traffic flow in the passing lane, inadequate following distance, etc, etc.
I never understood how anyone can ride a bike with ape hangers. My arms/hands would be tingling and numb within 30 mins.
Look at what they are riding and remember that the only thing that matters is image... "Look at me" "Listen to me" "It's all about me" "I don't care about safety or other people, so I am cool"
