Motorcycle Superstore has a sale on now so I thought I would get an extra set of tires to have on hand for this summer. I know many go with the 55 over the 50 on rear. What about the front? Thanks Wayne
I have used 120/70, 130/70, 130/80, even a 120/80 I had on hand.
Some folks are pretty sure the bike - any bike - is unrideable without the stock size and brand of tires on both ends, and they should definitely use those.
I found they all worked OK after a short period of adaptation. Going from a shagged front to a brand new one is a much greater change! The 130 are a little slower handling, but no reason to be freaking out. Opinion only of course.
I have a Michelin Pilot Active Rear 130/70-17 on the front of the trike, in reverse rotation, fits fine. The only slight issue is if a chipping sticks to the tyre in hot weather they can scrape the inside of the mudguard.
