Scorpion Yosemite

I started a thread on "4 Season Jackets" and have received some good info.

I was looking through Revzilla t jackets and this one caught my eye

Is anyone out there wearing the "Scorpion Yosemite" as their "year-round" jacket?

I have no experience with their jackets, but I had a Scorpion helmet and gloves and both were nice.  The reviews on the Scorpion Yosemite jacket are high, so it might be a winner.  As much as I like the Tourmaster Flex II jacket, the outer (windproof, water resistant) shell doesn't vent well at all, so there isn't much "inbetween" from full mesh to windproof mode.  There are no chest vents and no rear vents in the Flex II at all.  I think on the Flex III they added a little more arm vent and a single horizontal back vent, but still no chest.

Although The Yosemite it has lots of openable zippered mesh areas, it cannot convert to a full mesh jacket, so it would not be as good for hottest summer riding.  And it looks very long, which could be a comfort issue (I actually cut 2" off the Flex II's tail because I hated sitting on it).  Certainly has a lot of features, although the video info glosses over the armor and padding (which in the Flex is very good) and those are important.  I do like that it looks like it has a lot of control over venting options.

Mike, read the reviews; not just the first ones, as sites tend to put the good ones there . Read about 15 or 20, and you can see it's not built that well. Plenty of broken tabs, thermal liner total crap, rainproof liner ineffective (mixed reviews though), front and back venting requires to REMOVE the freaking jacket, and not that good overall venting. Oh, and pack pad useless, so you'd need to add the CE (more $$) for safety. And $400? I scratched it off my list, but you might still like it.

Maxtog, thank you for saving me some time to research the Tourmaster Flex. The idea of just one jacket sounded appealing, but here in hot TX, it's just impossible. Will go back to check dedicated mesh jackets. Checked many of the more expensive ones, but all had bad reviews somewhere that it matters. Seems like the JR Phoenix Ion might be the best bet. But will follow this thread to see what Mike ends up with, and his review from a Connie perspective .

Maybe I just stick to using 2 jackets after reading everything! I have the Transition 4 and the Air Intake 3 (both from Tourmaster). Maybe I just stick with that setup and call it a day!

That's probably a wise move. I have a very nice/sturdy Firstgear jacket/pants, both with liners/vents. I feel very safe on those, so will keep them for my late fall and early spring trips. But there're some trips where it's just too much, and the Phoenix 3 too little (and not enough protection for the way I ride).... but have no choice and have to use it in summer, due to the extreme heat here. Even on that jacket I'm baking my a$$. He he. That's the jacket I want to replace with the Flex3. I think it might be safer than the Phoenix (but don't know about the new Phoenix Ion). Both seem better than mine, and almost at the same price (flex3 on closeout). But I'd also keep 2 sets. Was using Draggin jeans, and want to buy the pants now. I'm improving my gear to ride as safe as possible. My Sidi Strada summer boots were too short, and already bought an awesome pair of TCX X-cube air. Will replace the Sidi waterproof Stradas (too tall) with the same X-cubes I have, but waterproof. And also just bought a Shoei GT-Air to replace my X-12 that fits too loose. That should be enough to be reasonably safe .
