I should update this.....the dealer said it wouldn't work. I told them to hang on to the new lock until I can see it. I'm wondering if it just needs some convincing of the sort that a dealer would not be willing to do to make it work. I should pick up my bike on Wednesday.....at least that's the plan....and put my eyes on the new lock and compare it to my new e55.

So....dealer said no go. If I think I can make it work I'll start a new thread about it, if not.....it's dead.

They would  have sold so many of these if it worked. What if you were to buy the 2015 trunk? Would they be able to match it with other year bikes. I would like to match it to a 2012.

Agreed.  I am not in the market for a top box, but if I were, I would definitely want a matched key.

Color match it?  I already asked that but it is kinda complex.  Mikeeitup said they sell a black replacement part for the green part.  What I see only shows the trim part in green ( http://www.kawasaki.com/Accessories/Item/ZG1400EFFL/99994057751P ).  This link shows the case itself in red, black, silver... http://www.kawasaki.com/Accessories/Item/ZG1400EFFL/999940481  And the color panel in silver ( http://www.kawasaki.com/Accessories/Item/ZG1400EFFL/999940657 ) or black ( http://www.kawasaki.com/Accessories/Item/ZG1400EFFL/999940656 ).  Very confusing.

In regard to the other half of the thread, I went to the dealership and the guy wasn't helpful BUT I finally got an email from Kawasaki and it pretty much read... NO THE 2015 KQR 47L CASE IS ONLY FOR 2015...... To which my reply is, why the hell did they change the bolt pattern? I don't believe it.

Really, that is crazy.  Plus, I would love for them to explain why that case has color panels available on their site for OTHER than the 2015 green and 2015 black.

Took the wafers from the new One Key system lock for the Kawasaki 47L case and swapped them into my Givi E55.

Bacon.

Neat!  That is the way to have it!!

OK, here is your next challenge- get the fab Projekt D helmet locks and have those matching too!  (OK, that is probably not going to happen, but wouldn't THAT be super-duper awesome? ) http://www.zggtr.org/index.php?topic=293.msg18368#msg18368
