They are hard seats, but have been comfortable for me on the 4 different bikes I have owned over my 18+ years of riding and I do some long trips during the summer.

As for their customer service? Well, I got my seat secondhand and it didn't come with the bracket that you bolt to the bike to lock the front seat in. I called them and after a few tries, finally got through and they told me I had to order it from a shop that sells Corbin Products. I went to a local shop that does a lot of custom work on bikes and does sell Corbin and the guy took my info and the part number and never called me back. Oh well, it works fine without that bracket...

Hey how’s it going? I know that this is a rally old post but I’m thinking of buying the modular Corbin with the Smuggler trunk. Is it a simple matter to swap the trunk with the back seat and vice versa?

I noticed that nobody answered your question.

The answer is yes, the back seat and the Smugger are very easily swapped. It only takes about 10 seconds.

I'm sorry Marty, I had no idea that you were feeling so neglected!

 :grouphug:

There, is that better?

Much (sniff) better (sniff) now, thanks Conrad.   :)

The point of the hard foam is that it never bottoms out. It eventually softens just enough to mold to you every time you get on it. I now have 2 bikes with Corbin seats. Both are excellent for all day riding. The OEM seat on my DR650 felt like a 2x4 after an hour or so. With the Corbin I've taken it on 5 day adventure rides.

There's foam in there?....must be this stuff.

The only Corbin I've sat on was for the C14, as for the DR Corbin...I have no Idea if it's hard as well. On my DR I use the Sweet Cheeks with full bottles. If on a longer trip on the DR, I'll borrow the AirHawk R from my C14 and throw it on top of the Sweet Cheeks set up.

Interesting. I've never seen those before.

You're most welcome. ..and just for the record I knew that "knew" isn't spelled "new" it actually was a typo and not a mistake-O.

I have the corbin 2pc , no back rest. Love it. The first time I rode with the seat installed I actually forgot all about it until 3 hrs into the ride. While fueling the bike my riding buddy asked what I thought of the new Corbin.... I just smiled. My 15year old son rides pillion and likes it way better than the stock seat.

I don't have one YET...I did order one yesterday, leather non heated both rider and passenger $622 with shipping and was told 3-4 weeks. I didn't get the smuggler but I do like that I can add that or the passenger backrest if I want.

My bike has 9k miles, bought it last may and the stock seat had to go soon, I couldn't do another season on it!

Corbin has been great on all my other bikes:) This one however has one problem that has been mentioned here and the other site by a few riders, namely a pressure point that numbs the family jewels:( I believe they may have addressed this problem by now (?) but the front hump needs to be taken down. I'm in the process of getting it done this winter. A lot better than the stock seat:)

Im now on week 3 of waiting for corbin to make my seat, I was told 4 weeks, but I certainly hope they have addressed these issues I read about. I was very close to going with the Baldwin gt, only deciding factor was with the corbin I still have my stock seat.

Had one on my '12. Yes, it was hard, but I could sit on that thing for hours on end. Very comfortable for me. Loved it. I'm 6'0" and 165#.

I have a Corbin 2-piece sport seat with back rest.  It doesn't look like the one I currently see on their site.  Personally, I want to get rid of it because I believe it is lower than stock.  I'll probably look to see if someone wants to trade for a Sargent or any other aftermarket standard height.

This is the 4th bike I've had a corbin, yes they are firm, but they work well for me, guess I'm just a hardass. Here's some pic's with and without the Smuggler.

Dan..nice seat, I didn't order anything that flashy, just plain black leather....now I am thinking I should have requested something different.
