+1

Too often this isn't what happens...

If a dog attacked my child, you wouldn't need to call anyone to have it put down !  (You'd probably have to call the cops pretty quick to prevent it being put down...)

You might want to watch the vid again. The kid was playing in the front yard, nothing wrong with that. The mother seemed to be right there on the front porch, she reached the kid within seconds after the attack. What else would you have her to do?

In any case, that's an amazing cat! Kicked the dog's ass, chased him off, and then came back to see what was up with the kid.

Cat of the year!

edit: Ah, I see what you mean. It was after the attack. Maybe she was checking to see where the dog was and if he was coming back for round two?

yeah, she just left the kid there. Even if she put him on top of the car it would have been better. I assume she wanted to see where the dog was, but leaving the kid there for round 2? I don't think so. Steve

It's good to have a smart badass cat on your side. That kind of attack could have been fatal.

GOOD KITTY!!  Extra tuna for you tonight.

My boy Chester (17 pound Main Coone) would have torn that dog 14 new a$$holes and taken a lunch break before he knew what hit him.

Yep, the first order of business should have been getting the kid out of harms way.

I likely would have ended up with a dislocated shoulder from my Mom lofting me to the top of the station wagon by my wrist...

It could have been worse, but if I was there like she was and the cat was not around, it wouldn't have been much worse as I would have messed that dog up.
