BTW PH14...which seat do you prefer of the 2 you have?
Well now, that is an interesting question. I rode a lot of 800+ mile days on the Sargent and did okay, including Pittsburgh to Miami and back. On the way back I rode from Miami to West Virginia straight through before taking a nap in a parking lot. That was a little over 1000 miles. I finished the entire ride home from Miami in less than 24 hours including the nap and stops for food. The Sargent felt okay, but it is a rather hot saddle and I felt the foam was breaking down more than I like, leaving me a little more mashed in the saddle than sitting on top of it.
I had ordered the Corbin before the Miami trip and hoped to have it before I left. It came while I was gone. The Corbin is on the bike right now and it is a very well made saddle. Beautiful. When I had it made, I called and told them I was not an overweight guy and didn't need the extra room and dish the stock Corbin had. They said they would note that on the order and adjust accordingly. They didn't. The seat has an odd shape for a sport touring bike. The nose has caused pain in the soft parts, though it seems to be getting a bit better. The saddle has six or seven thousand miles on it. It is much cooler than the Sargent and I like that. I may have the saddle reshaped to get rid of the hump in the nose. I really don't need as much dish as there is on the rear of the saddle, but that may be okay when the hump is taken out of the nose. The foam is hard but I like the support. It would be better for me if it was just a hair softer, not much though. I would hate to go too soft and have it break down too much like the Sargent.
I called about getting it modified and they offered to put their softer foam in it. They said it would be free of charge with the exception of shipping. The only thing that would cost is if I had changes made that necessitated altering the cover. I haven't seen their softer foam so I am afraid to try that.
I asked what the guy at Corbin thought about the different foam and he said he liked the standard foam for long rides. I asked him what he called a long ride, and he said 300 miles.

I can ride on plywood for 300 miles.
At the moment, despite everything, I probably will say I like the Corbin better. When new, the Sargent was amazing. It was always hotter than the Corbin though. I can understand the slight issue I have with the shape of the Corbin because it isn't a custom made seat. I can still do an 800 mile day and get off and do it the next day. I feel more vibration on the Corbin and large bumps are better absorbed by the softer foam of the Sargent. The support of the harder foam on the Corbin is better. The stock seat left me crying.
