Like a new bike!
« on: April 23, 2014, 05:57:36 PM »
Added Murph's wedges, and replaced my worn out PR2's with new ones today on my '08. This was my first time using the Harbor Frieght tire changer with the No mar bar. All went well with no problems. I'm very happy that I no longer have to pay someone to do it! This will pay for itself in short order. I also changed out the batteries in the TPMS Sensors since the front had quit working. I didn't realize just how sucky the bike was handling until I put the new tires on and with the wedges, the bike feels awesome! Now to do an oil change this weekend and I'll be all set.

What bar did you use with the HF balancer?  No mar?

I just ordered another "portable" balancer off amazon that I plan to steal parts (bar and cones) from to use with the HF one.  The amazon one had good reviews.

I used the NoMar mounting bar with the HF Tire Changerand just used the HF Motorcycle wheel balancer with the bar that came with it. The balancer bar has cone shaped ends that fit into the center holes in the bearings. It seemed to work just fine.

Oh. I was thinking balancer.

My HF balancer had a bent rod (i hate it when that happens...) so i just ordered a higher quality bar/cones.

My mounting device is a paint bucket and spoons. Lol
