Go to Wal-Mart or one of your local auto parts stores. They will have some led strips with a battery attached to them so you can check the brightness.

I bought the 12 inch strips and wired them to the back of my Weestrom under the rear rack.  Ran them like that for 8-9 months.  I bought a Givi 46 and took the same lights off the back of the bike and mounted them inside the reflectors.  I just wired them as running lights as I also have a set of Skenes on the rear that do running light/brake light duty.

These light strips come in various lengths--which you can cut to fit--and various colors if you choose.  And the ones I bought come with 3M tape already applied.

I haven't had any trouble out of them since I installed them.

I like them so much I just put a set on the Connie.

  If I remember correctly the 2 12" strips cost about $ 20.

Thanks for the tip but finally found what I was looking for and ordered 39" of this and will be put it inside of the reflective strip that the trunk has
