AMA Pro Road Racing
« on: February 05, 2014, 02:26:48 PM »
FYI, the racing this year is gonna suck. By that I mean that they are only having 5 rounds of racing and all of them on the East coast. Last year they had 9 rounds of racing. They also had them at Laguna Seca (twice), Indiana Motor Speedway and Miller Sports Park in addition to the ones listed below

March 13-15 [Daytona International Speedway] *
May 30 - June 1 [Road America] *
June 21-22 [Barber Motorsports Park] *
July 19-20 [Mid-Ohio] *
Sept 13-14 [New Jersey Motorsports Park] *

Hell, the year before that they had 12 rounds and the year before that they had 22 rounds.

I can only speculate it's all about money, or, lack of it.
Over the years:       1972 Harley Rapido
1972 Suzuki T350R  1979 BMW R100RT
1987 Honda Helix.    2006 Kawasaki Concours

I've been watching MotoGP and FIM SBK up until last spring.  SBK got dumped to some offbeat channel BEIN that Directv wanted more money for me to watch..   :censored: :censored:   So this past year all I've been watching is English British Superbike and MotoGP which is now on Fox Sports.   British Superbike is on Velocity...I think.

Those are both great, but I need WSB as well. I called and added BEIN to my package, and don't regret it. Watching Tom Sykes destroy the competition is worth every penny.

Isn't BEIN a spanish channel? I know that you can also watch it online at their webpage.

Is that on Directv?  From what I could see I would have to get the Premier super duper package to get that channel.  Don't want to do that.  Not prudent.

It does have a spanish component but BEIN USA is in English.  I've tried to watch it online and it basically sucks as far as I'm concerned.

It makes me sad the AMA program is slowly dying after going to the races all over the country with my buds and family, and watching them on Speed for years. It reminds me of all the great F-1 and road racing that disappeared from Watkins Glen in the 1980's. Watching Tom Sykes win the World Superbike title and battle the BMWs, Aprilias, Ducatis and Hondas is the best racing there is. If the WSB races are available where you are, don't miss out -the World Supersport class is awesome as well.
