Shaping my hat
« on: January 21, 2014, 08:06:26 PM »
Hey everyone,

I just purchased an '02 ZG1000.   Absolutely love, love, love it!

I work as the service manager for a Kawi dealership so these bikes are not really new to me, but having said that, this is the first time I have owned one.  What an awsome bike....

I want to get away soon and cruise out to New Mexico and do some riding.  Any suggestions as to where?  What can I expect as far as campsites?  What facilities are there to utilize?  Any help would be appreciated.  I have an uncle that has a place at Cloudcroft and that would probably be my destination, and then just work my way back to N. Texas.

I really appreciate the forum here and have enjoyed reading posts in the short time I have been here.

Welcome to the mix! Not sure how much help you'll get on New Mexico with a subject like that, but maybe somebody will be along.

Ya, you may want to change the subject line to make it more specific as to what you are asking.

At least you spell Vaughan correctly.

Good riding up that area.  Ruidoso is a good destination- nice roads between Cloudcroft & there.  Horse racing and a casino.  Golden Aspen Rally is held in Ruidoso- look it up and go another time of year :)  Silver City is also a good ride.  I always like to go to Mogollon which is an old mining town that has become artsy lately.  Used to be a dirt road from there up to Snow Lake but that's private property and the owner blocked it off since people were trashing the place.  Watch out for cattle guards in the corners.
