playing with a camera...and a KTM
« on: January 12, 2014, 12:29:04 PM »
90% of the mods completed for the ADV rides, I rolled this bike into the house on an "orange carpet".

Hope to do a 2 week cross country 90% off-road trip on it this summer, the "Trans-American Trail" from TN to Oregon. Also if things go my way in the next year or two this bike will be in Baja, Mexico, Moab, Utah, the southwest desert, and Rockies/Blue Ridge Mountains.

Wanted a few pics before the 6 gal tank goes on and i lose the oh-so-cute factory shrouds

Its amazing my girl Teressa has spent so many late nights in the garage wrenching with me.  And she got in it and helped, not just hung out. She's a keeper

And one of my ugly mug just so I'd have something with the bike!

I think the pics suck.  Too clean for my tastes.  Only things like chain and fork tubes should be shiny ;D  Sure would look great in front of the typical Starbucks hangout though ;)  That thing is gonna look nice with a set of GL bags and the desert tank ;D

So, are you getting the orange boots, Klim pants, Klim Jersey, Klim Jacket, and Klim gloves?  That gets you free admission to everything KTM :salute:

You will pass within a mile of my house.  Heed the warnings about water crossings on the slate bottomed rivers in TN.

Let me know when you have exact dates and I will check out your bike in person if I am in town.

I can't believe the last guy only put 20 hours on this thing and sold it to me pristine for pennies on the dollar. I'll have it beat to death soon!  I had the KLIM Badlands attire with the KLR, the jacket didn't tear even once on the multiple rock falls!  Yeah that stuff is right out of GQ magazine in the "ADV" section towards the back

It would be AWESOME to meet you.  Even if I just spend the summer in Asheville like I normally try to do I'll try and head your way.
