Fuse testing can be repaired  ;)

avoid using the original fuse to test   :)

What are you testing? Fuses are either blown........or not.

The regulator was blowing the " fuse 30 A "  before I found the problem :-[

The best way to troubleshoot shorts in this type of environment is to use a typical 12v light bulb (like a turn signal bulb) as the fuse. If it lights full strength, you have a short. Plus, you can leave it in place while you check for shorted wiring and such - no harm done.

Just to clarify, that won't work with high power fuses, as the current for a bulb is well within the max value of the fuse and will glow anyway.

Use a headlamp bulb for the higher value fuses, and connect both filaments in parallel.
