Help Understanding: Adjusting Rear Brake Lever Height

After spending a challenging time understanding how to adjust the brake lever height, I am opening up a discussion to request kind assistance on this matter from my trusty zggtr forum. I've spent time reading the repair manual and user manual but need additional help understanding.

I would like to lower the rear brake lever to match as close as possible to height of my installed drop pegs from "Motorcycle Larry". I do not want to shave/grind anything, but I do want to know whether I'm adjusting things correctly because I do not see a noticeable change in what i'm doing.

"Bottoming out". If I'm supposed to screw the threaded stem until it "bottoms out", which way am I turning it? Am I turning the screw until it comes completely down and out (turning counterclockwise)... or turning the screw until it's up and in (clockwise)? I've been turning it CCW where the nut on the stem becomes more and more exposed but the brake lever doesn't seem to move yet.

Turn it clockwise.

Yeah it's very small adjustments...
You'll want to turn it to bottom the plunger rod until it bottoms out. With peg lowers installed you prob won't be able to adjust it low enough without sawing off about a 1/4". I did this on mine, but eventually removed the peg lowers because I did not like how soon they scraped. Don't for get to adjust the rear brake like switch too otherwise the brake lights will be on without even pressing the pedal.

+1 or what year is your bike. In any case if you want the lever lower you must turn in or shorten the clevis to the master cylinder. It does bottom out quickly and I found there is not enough room to get it low enough for the drop pegs. I cut a 1/4 inch from the stud.

This is a pic of the newer or recall replacement adjuster. You adjust up or shorter to move the pedal down. To do that, loosen the lock nut and turn the clevis clockwise. Once you have it where you want it, tighten the lock nut.
