Very specific purpose case
« on: June 18, 2016, 03:58:41 AM »
Any ideas?  I am looking for a low profile case into which I can put my suit and dress shoes.  I commute about 95miles round trip and gotta clean up my act when I get there.  I used to have the E55 and everything fit nicely in there, but it actually was a bit overkill.  Now that I think of it, I'm looking for something that has the width of the E55 but half the height. Do I potentially have a Pelican case in my future?  My suits are a bit wide at the shoulder and I tend to be able to get away with dropping it on the hanger in the case with one fold (like folding the whole suit in half).

Pelican case.

No experience or affiliation with the website below but it shows the range of dimensions you can get them in.

You might consider a Givi Trekker in the 33 liter size. I use this for my work commute since it holds my wide laptop perfectly:

It's a standard Monokey type.

This is alittle different, but worth a look.

This style might be right, if you can keep the weather out.
here's one on EB  http://www.ebay.com/itm/SkyRoll-Garment-Bag-/322179944737?hash=item4b036bd121:g:YEgAAOSwXeJXeRbx

Now, this guy is supposed to be an expert at 'rolling' suits,
without much regard for the bag size.

sorry for the late reply just got here.

If you can find one (they;re discontinued) the Givi B36N business case would be ideal. Theyre like an oversized laptop/briefcase

I've traveled off and on my whole career and the "how to pack a suit.."article is right on. I'd add that if you are putting it in a bag, put the heavy stuff in the bottom so that it doesn't crush the suit. Key in what he said was bend not fold. I recently discovered that the online company "Orvis" sells nice dress shirts that are some kind of permanent press that looks good and holds a crease but doesn't add wrinkles in your bag. Kinda of pricey but if you pick them up one or two at a time (the last a long time) you'll soon have a nice collection. That roll up bag looks like it'd fit in a dry bag strapped across the seat.
